Crash report from Danny Missig:
Here's my story: it's 4th of July, the weather is beautiful and I'm with my friends and family at Beaverun Motorsports Park in Wampum, PA for a day of motorcycle racing!
So,we take the track for our sighting lap, grid, and go green! I'm feeling good as I got a fast start and I take T1 in 3rd position. By the 4th lap I'm out by myself and start using the whole track. I never even notice the Hit-Air MLV vest I've been wearing. Off the crest of T7,In to the left of 8 and through the kink(T9) I'm flying! As I break late and pitch the bike right into T10, I know I'm coming in too hot! so I commit, and down touches my right knee, then my toes, then my elbow. I'm looking through the turn and steady on the gas as the bike eases Into a low side"get-off". The vest inflates, I start to roll and tumble! Finally, I bounce one last time as the ride comes to an end. Whew! I make an inventory that I'm fine, get up, get my bike, and realize "hey I feel really good". The MLV worked so well my head never even touched the ground. I walked away completely untouched. Wow!
So, it's off to the pits to start working on the bike to get ready for race #2. We take care of the bike and repack my vest for round two. I put on my helmet, gloves, Vest and off we go. Right onto the track. Green flag and we're racing! This time I'm running faster than the first race!
By the 5th lap the group I'm running with is about to lap the back of the pack. As I close in on the slower traffic, I know the speed differential is too much. I can't slow down fast enough, so I start moving left. But even as I do, so does the rider right in front me. next thing I know, I'm at his rear tire and as much as I try to avoid it, I touched his tire and BAM! I'm flipping head over heels for about 100 feet! Finally, time to stop rollin'. I'm dizzy, but that vest worked again! I got up, thanked God, and took the scrap cart back to the pits. I trashed my bike. Tore up my leathers, bruised my ego, but I walked away. Monday was a day off for the holiday, but Tuesday I went back to work like nothing ever happened. I don't think I could have done that with out my SaferMoto vest. In fact I might have saved myself not just a lot of money, but a whole lot of pain and injury. So, if you're even thinking about buying one, get it! You'll be sooo glad you did.
Sincerely, Danny Missig |

Motoseries/Fasttrax instructor and racer Bill Billock crash tests the MLV vest and sent us this message:
Well, I had my first off-track experience with the SaferMoto MLV vest on Sunday the 6th of June. I have been really wondering how my first experience was going to go once I had to put the MLV into action. Sunday was that day. I was cruising along and leading the race with 1 lap to go and wouldn't you know it.... down I went. I was very concerned that once the vest inflated, it was going to restrict my ability to move quickly, get to my feet, and get safely off the track. Boy was I wrong!
My crash started as a simple low-side crash that turned into a head over heals tumble. The first thing I noticed was the immediate neck support that it provided. This truly was a very comforting feeling as I tumbled through the grass. I must say that I was very surprised to find that the inflated vest caused NO restriction to my movement. I even had to look down and feel to see if the chest and back bladders inflated (which of course they had). The MLV performed better than advertised in every way. I walked away from the crash without a scratch. I can now say that I am sold on the added safety benefits of the MLV Hit-Air motorcycle vest. Thanks to SaferMoto and my MLV, I am in as good of shape now as I was before my crash!

Another Track Day Crash Report:
I just want to let you know that I was able to try the validity of the JV Hit-Air vest I bought from you last Saturday. Unfortunately I had a hard low-side today at turn 4 Infineon and walked away unhurt because of divine intervention and the JV vest of course. My right shoulder was a bit sore and decided to call the day off because I didn't have the extra CO2. I just didn't feel good going out again without the vest. It's like driving a car without a seatbelt. I just hope this would encourage other track addicts like me to invest in this vest so we can continue to enjoy this addiction for a long long time.

One of our sponsored racers, 13 year-old Andrew Zabzdyr (pronounced "Zader") crashed over the weekend at the SCMiniGP races in Southern California. His dad Steven sent us this message:
So we field tested the SaferMoto vest this weekend and I can say that we were very happy with the results. We had rain Saturday night so the first practice session on Sunday morning was wet. Being from California we don't get much wet weather practice so early on in the first session Andrew grabbed a little too much brakes and lowsided his 50. He was fine and so was the bike, albeit with a bunch of grass and mud on it. The vest deployed as expected and Andrew was fine with NO injuries or pain.
Later in the day on his 65, Andrew hit a bad bump while on the gas and caught an unexpected wheelie in the esses. He couldn't make the second turn and when he got the front wheel on the ground he grabbed a handful of front brakes and did a stoppie, which eventually tossed him over the bars landing on a hay bale. I didn't see it, but by the time I got to him he was walking the bike. He was perfectly fine with no injuries. I was amazed. This for sure should have caused some type of injury, but the vest did the trick. Andrew did mention that he needed to unzip it quickly once he realized he was ok as it squeezed him when it deployed, but it was no big deal and I think that just ensures it is staying in place and working properly. So my wife and I are sold on the SaferMoto vest.

Crash report from one of our customers:
Well I put the vest through a pretty complete test yesterday at Infineon. Turn 6 low side at about 60 – 70 miles an hour. I was riding my production SV. I rode a couple of good sessions and was about 8 laps into the last session before lunch when I went down. I came into 6 the same way I had all morning but the front end just slipped away from me.
I went down on the left side and watched the bike slide away from me towards the grass. I immediately felt the vest inflate as I was landing on my left side. Absolutely no damage to me, no bruises, scratches or burn marks. I slid for a good 40 – 50 feet on the track before hitting the dirt.
I have absolutely no injuries what so ever, I believe the vest inflation saved me from a pretty bad hit on my lower back. I am a little bit stiff this morning but again the vest is what allowed me to walk away from another one!!! |

Roger Bowen is a District Sales Manager for Kawasaki and recently tried out one of our Autobahn jackets. He had this to say:
"I have shown it to many individual riders and the response has been terrific.
I have noticed that this is a product that has to be experienced. The attitude before seeing it is that it's a gimmick but after they see it they are very impressed.
The Hit Air Autobahn has all the features a serious rider has come to expect in a top quality jacket. The added safety of this jacket puts it on a new level. The Autobahn is comfortable and the air bag system is non -intrusive. If you are as serious about riding and your safety equipment as I am, you have to put the Hit Air Autobahn Jacket on your list.

Had a great time at the International Motorcycle Show! We talked to hundreds of people and had a great response from everyone who looked at the jackets. "I can't believe I've never heard of these, it's a brilliant idea" was heard over and over again. Funny, that's what I said when I first heard of the Hit-Air product line and it's why we started SaferMoto.
Many thanks to everyone who helped us put on the show, especially my Dad, Rory Kamper and Larissa Wasilevsky who were a huge help and a real pleasure to have around, I couldn't have done it without you. Ace Custom Graphics made us some killer banners. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for graphics work. |

Had an exciting day today at the AFM races at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. It was a beautiful day with a very full schedule. We had a raffle to benefit Eric Arnold, a racer who crashed earlier in the season. Gave away a Hit-Air vest to a Jake L. who is very happy.
Met Alan Cunningham, an AFM racer (#368) who was very interested in the vests. He offered to wear one during his 650 Twins race and I was happy to oblige. As it turns out, it was a good idea that Alan had one of our vests on as he crashed in turn 2. He high-sided, hit the ground and tumbled, landed on his head and rolled some more. All this time, the vest was inflated and doing its job. He walked away with a ruined helmet, a headache and a bruised elbow. Alan had this to say in an email to me the next day:
"Looking at the picture you can see how the vest stopped my neck from canting to the side. It kept my head and spine in alignment which saved a SERIOUS neck injury.
Thank you so much for letting me wear the vest I swear it is the one reason I am not writing this from a hospital bed."
How cool is THAT!
Thanks to Larissa for the great photos.
