Racing FAQs
Q Where should I attach the tether?
A Most of the racers attach it to the triple clamp or the the frame rail halfway between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure to adjust the length so that is as short as possible but long enought so that it doesn't interfere with moving back and forth. We recommend adjusting it so that it is snug when you are seated on the bike, sitting straight up, feet on the ground as you would be at the start of the race. This way if you do come off, the airbag will deploy as quickly as possible.

Q What is the difference between the vests?
A With the exception of the MLV, they are all functionally identical and use the same airbag system. The only differences are in the styling and the material used on the side panels below the arm. The YS and JV vests use an expandable cloth section whereas the MC-2 and MV-2 vests use mesh material in that area.

Q How does the vest handle abrasions? Will the airbag pop if I land on it?
A The vest material has shown to be very durable. The first crash that we've documented resulted in only some scuffed reflective piping which was only cosmetic damage. The material is very durable and the airbag system itself is also encased in strong rip-resistant nylon material. A later crash that was a lowside and a 40-50 foot slide on the back did result in the nylon being worn through by the asphalt and the airbag being punctured but by this time it had already done its job of buffering the shock.

Q Will the keybox get in the way as I ride?
A It depends on your riding style and the design of the tank. Some of our younger racers have had problems with the keybox getting in the way, especially on the RS125s.

Q Will you sponsor me?
A We wish we could sponosr everyone but unfortunately we have a limited budget for sponsorship. If you would like to be considered for sponsorship, please .

Q Do you offer discounts to racers and instructors?
A Yes, we do. Please contact us and let us know where you race, your affiliations, race number, etc. We will do whatever we can to assist you.

Q How does the vest fit over a speed hump?
A It works fine. Here is a good picture showing how it works:
